{ the peterson fam }

Our friends, the Petersons, are visiting from Utah. They have a lake house up here so it's so fun to see them every summer! Saturday we had wonderful dinner at Cindy's to celebrate my mother's birthday. The little boys had so much fun together and the big boys (and girls) played a competetive game of ultimate frisbee!

{ frames }

I love making these frames! I made the first one for my MIL, Amara, for her birthday...and the second one for my adorable niece, Brinley. I'll put pictures in, I just have to find the perfect ones!

{ pedicures }

The other night Marcus was at class and Caleb and Jordan slept over Grammie's so Tanner and I were home alone! And look what we did...

{ ordained }

Caleb was sustained and ordained a deacon today!  In our church, when a boy turns twelve he graduates from primary and is officially part of the Young Men. A deacon is the first step in YM. This means he will be able to pass the sacrament and he now holds the Aaronic Priesthood.  I can't believe he's 12!  I am so proud of him.

{ mama mia }

Tonight we went to see this movie for Girl's Night Out. I've never been an Abba fan (I felt like I was the only one in the theater not singing along...and I'm totally okay with that), but I really loved the music and comedy in this movie! The actors did and incredible job. I loved it!  I can't wait to finish downloading the soundtrack.

{ scouting }

Caleb spent the the week during his brithday at Scout Camp. He had a much better week than last year! On the night of his birthday we went and brought him treats and I made these cute cupcakes I found on this blog. He completed 3 merit badges at camp and he officially moved up to First Class last Tuesday at the Court of Honor! Yay Caleb!

{ papa mo }

Caleb's dad, Mo, is in town visiting from Salt Lake City. I kept it a secret from Caleb that he was coming over and he was so surpried to see him! The little boys were excited too. For some strange reason they call him "Papa Mo". Tanner was chasing him around all night screaming "Papa Mo!" We haven't seen him since last summer so it's great to see him again.

{ the host }

I was so not looking forward to reading this book. It looked so lame. Aliens, Claw Beasts, Souls, "Flower Planet", Seekers, "Rides with Bears"??? L-A-M-E. My mom read it first and told me she stayed up all night to read it. So I gave it a go. First off let me say, it was WEIRD. But it was soooo good. I swear, Stephenie Meyers could write a book about POOP and I would still love it. And the best part....? They are making a movie about it.

{ a wicked cool gift. }

My sister Kristin, and her family (Dan, Sam, and Alicia) got Caleb such a cool gift for his 12th birthday! First of all, he loves Jones soda.  They ordered him a case of his favorite flavor with a picture of him and the girls on it and it even has a personalized note on the back! Too cute! Catch Up...

My sister, Karinne, and her family came to visit last week from Utah. We did a ton of fun "Maine" things...
-We went on a Whale Watch on Boothbay Harbor
-Picked strawberries. Then made strawberry rhubarb jam with rhubarb from dad's garden.
-Went to the Children's Museum of Maine.
-Found crabs in the tide pools at Kettle Cove.
-Celebrated Windham Summerfest. 1787??
-Had lobster dinner at camp on Crescent Lake, complete with whoopie pies and fireworks!
-Had a barbeque at Kristin and Dan's, rode the four wheelers, saw his gun collection, and tried on his bear.
Not pictured: Daily Italians, late night Boggle/Rummikub tournaments, smeared fireflies, barbie/princess porch, Ava's whale watch head wound, garage sale at Mimi's, Caleb's rained-out Luau, Danny's tetnus shot, and a 1:00am visit from Officer Friendly...Oh okay, fine...Here's the picture of Officer Friendly:
