Marjorie B. Hansen 1918-2008

Today my sweet grandmother passed away. She was seriously an amazing woman. She had so much spunk! I remember one year on halloween she wore a costume with a bikini painted on the front... and then she turned out the lights and the bikini was glow in the dark! When I was 10 or 11 I was having a slumber party at her camp on the lake and she showed up at night dressed in a gorilla costume and scared the living daylights out of us! She will always be very special to me not only because she was so funny, but because she is the reason we were able to build our home. She bought a huge amount of land back in the day and saved it so her children and grandchildren could build on it. If it wasn't for her we would of never been able to afford to have such a beautiful home on a perfect piece of land. I can only think of one way to repay her for her remarkable generousity. I can take her name to the temple and do the work there that she was unable to do when she was here. It's so comforting to know that she's with her family and two of her children and we will all be together again.

Nice blog Sarah. She was a remarkable women. We too love our beautiful home on the land she gave to as. She will be sadly missed by all. I always will remember Christmas carols in the living room and I am sure so will Nicole and Bobby.

Spunk?! Doesn't even begin to describe it! The dog card? The dirty jokes? She was so much like you... in a few ways! ;)The funeral was so nice, it is good to be here. She had a very good and long life. She did everything she wanted to do. She taught us all the importance of tradition and family, she may just be the founder of the Hansen Mafia! A nice tribute to an amazing person.
