Marjorie B. Hansen 1918-2008

Today my sweet grandmother passed away. She was seriously an amazing woman. She had so much spunk! I remember one year on halloween she wore a costume with a bikini painted on the front... and then she turned out the lights and the bikini was glow in the dark! When I was 10 or 11 I was having a slumber party at her camp on the lake and she showed up at night dressed in a gorilla costume and scared the living daylights out of us! She will always be very special to me not only because she was so funny, but because she is the reason we were able to build our home. She bought a huge amount of land back in the day and saved it so her children and grandchildren could build on it. If it wasn't for her we would of never been able to afford to have such a beautiful home on a perfect piece of land. I can only think of one way to repay her for her remarkable generousity. I can take her name to the temple and do the work there that she was unable to do when she was here. It's so comforting to know that she's with her family and two of her children and we will all be together again.

Best Friend of the Year Award goes to.....

Marcie! I cannot believe her! She watched our house while we were in Florida, which was a HUGE favor because Caleb's lizard needs his light off and on every morning and night and he needs crickets every day. Anyways, when we got home I was very impressed how clean my house was! She did my laundry! BUT, that's not all! I heard Caleb freaking out in the basement and went down to see what had happened. It didn't even look like my basement! She totally cleaned and organized everything. She even laid down carpet and put all the kids toys down there for a play area! I would post a picture but it wouldn't do it justice because there is no before picture. You could barely walk down there before. All my holiday decorations were dumped everywhere, foodstorage were in piles. Boxes upon boxes upon boxes. A total nightmare. That's why I haven't even begun to tackle that mess. I still cannot believe Marcie. It must of taken her forever. I am so blessed to have a CRAZY friend! haa! Jk! Love ya, Marcie! and T H A N K Y O U!

Birthday Boy!

My brother, Jon, turned 37 while we were in Florida!  So today we celebrated!  When I was younger I always thought he was so "cool" because he was older.  I would sneak into his room steal his clothes and think I was all that because I had a USM sweatshirt.  I've always looked up to him and I still do.  He's super talented, smart, creative, funny, and handsome.  I'm very proud to have him as my big brother. Here is a picture of Jon, Dad, and my grandmother last Thanksgiving. Mimi is very sick and in the hospital right now, so please pray for her.

More Disney Pictures...

We had a BLAST in Orlando!! It was perfect weather! We stayed at a Disney Resort so we we right in the middle of all the theme parks! We were very busy but we had so much FUN! It's so hard to be back in the cold. Brrrrr! Here are a few more pics from the trip.

I did manage to make a cake and I made dinner because all my family is coming over. Poor Jordan! He's been like this all day...He's so sick too! :-( I feel so sad for him! I am able to squeeze a smile out of him when I talk about the awesome present Daddy got him. I just LOVE this handsome boy!!!

Belated!

I'm such a bad auntie! This post is way overdue! My niece, Alicia, celebrated her 12th birthday last friday. Saturday Kristin, Dan and the girls all came over and we had a party for the birthday girl! She is seriously the sweetest girl ever! We absolutely LOVE her! Leticia, Alicia, and SamParty!Kristin and Alicia

Cookies.

The boys were making valentine cookies last night and every five seconds I'd hear one of them say, "Hey! You broke my heart!" It made me smile, because I forgot they were making heart shaped cookies!

Uh Oh.

I went to my sister Kristin's today to help her paint. Tanner apparently found a permanent marker while we were painting because he came in the room looking like this...

Fire Safety

We went to the Fire Station for a field trip today. For some reason the boys are terrified of policemen/firemen. They did pretty well. Both refused to go into the firetruck. I think they thought it would take off with the sirens and lights! But they did answer questions from the fire cheif! And they sang the "Never, Never, Play with Matches" song on the way home!

Mitt Romney

It's not official, but it looks like Romney will win the for the Maine Republican caucus!! He definitely won in our town. My mom and a bunch of our ward members were chosen to be delegates here in Windham. A few weekends ago my mom went down to New Hamphshire for a campaign rally and was able to meet him, his wife, and his five sons. I was watching President Hinckely's funeral and saw him in the second row. It was comforting to see him take a break from his campaigning to pay his respects to our beloved prophet.
